Welcome to the Dental Complaints Service

At the Dental Complaints Service (DCS) we provide advice and support to anyone who needs help with resolving issues relating to private dentistry.

Our team of trained and dedicated advisers support patients and dental professionals to resolve complaints fairly and efficiently. We provide a free and impartial service across the UK about private dental care.

We cannot help with:

  • NHS dentistry (HSC in Northern Ireland)
  • legal advice.

We understand that you may not know if you received private or NHS dental services. If not, please contact your dental practice or provider to check what type of care you received before going any further.

If your complaint is about NHS dental care, you should first raise the issue with your dental practice or the dental professional who treated you. If you would prefer not to, you will need to contact NHS complaints services where you live.

The NHS may refer you to an ombudsman if your complaint has already been handled by your dental professional or NHS service provider.

You can find out more about NHS complaints where you live:

If you have any problems contacting the NHS, call us on 020 8253 0800.
