Social Return On Investment of the DCS

The Dental Complaints Service (DCS) is funded by the General Dental Council (GDC). The GDC wanted to get a better understanding of the impact of the DCS was having for various stakeholders and to be able to express this impact in monetary terms through using the Social Return on Investment methodology.

Social Value Lab, an independent specialist consultancy, conducted the research and analysis.

Survey of dental professional users

The GDC commissioned a survey to better understand the experiences and perceptions of dental professionals who had used the DCS, including how satisfied they were with the service and how it could be improved. 

The survey was carried out by Customer Satisfaction UK. It surveyed dental professionals who had used the DCS between 1 October 2017 and 28 February 2019.
