Social Return On Investment of the Dental Complaints Service
The Dental Complaints Service (DCS) is funded by the General Dental Council (GDC) and is currently under review. As part of this review, the GDC want to get a better understanding of the impact of the service on its various stakeholders and express this impact in monetary terms through using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology and explore the potential to use SROI as an evaluation tool for other projects and services.
Social Value Lab, an independent specialist consultancy, were commissioned to conduct this research and complete an SROI analysis.
Dental Complaints Service survey of dental professional users
The GDC commissioned a survey to better understand the experiences and perceptions of dental professionals who had used the DCS, including how satisfied they were with the service and how it could be improved.
The survey, conducted by Customer Satisfaction UK, included dental professionals who had used the DCS between 1 October 2017 and 28 February 2019.
